Offshore Emergency Medicine®

This popular seminar is now in its 22nd year, offering intensive medical training for cruisers and racing sailors operating out of range of rapid rescue and medical assistance. The program includes approximately 12 hours of pre-course reading, study, and on-line testing followed by three days of on-site training. There are no prerequisites, but basic first aid and CPR training is recommended either before or after this program. Certification is awarded by Wilderness Medical Associates International, and earns 36 hours CME from CECBEMS.

OEM: Offshore Emergency Medicine 11 - 13 October 2019 in Annapolis, Maryland

This course will be held at the Historic Inns of Annapolis in downtown Annapolis, Maryland. The nearest airports are Baltimore (BWI),  Dulles (IAD), and Regan International (DCA). 

Instructions for precourse study will be sent to you by email. The required textbook is Wilderness and Rescue Medicine 6th Edition, by Jeffrey Isaac, PA-C and David Johnson, MD and may be purchased at a discounted rate from the WMA Bookstore at The digital version of the book is available on Amazon Kindle. You should plan to complete the assigned reading and on-line test before arrival. Training runs from 0830 to 1700 daily.
